Explicitly broken lepton number at low energy in the Higgs triplet model
We suppose that lepton number is explicitly broken at low energy scale(M) in
the framework of the Higgs triplet() model. The scalar sector of the
model is developed considering the particular assumption
eV. We show that such assumption infers a particular mass spectrum for the
scalars that compose the triplet and cause a decoupling of these scalars from
those that compose the standard scalar doublet.Comment: Minor changes, New references added, To appear at MPL
Nicomachean Ethics VI.9: Good Deliberation and Phronesis
In this paper, I put under scrutiny the arguments put forward by Aristotle in Nicomachean Ethics (NE) VI.9. The paper has two main parts. In the first, I examine the NE VI.9’s first part where Aristotle develops the concept of good deliberation, offering its definition in 1142b27-28. In the second, I examine the connection between good deliberation and phronesis, and, then, I discuss the vexata quæstio about if the lines 1142b31-33 might be read as introducing the claim that phronesis provides moral ends
Developing frameworks for protocol implementation
This paper presents a method to develop frameworks for protocol implementation. Frameworks are software structures developed for a specific application domain, which can be reused in the implementation of various different concrete systems in this domain. The use of frameworks support a protocol implementation process connected with formal design methods and produce an implementation code easy to extend and to reuse
MESSAGE ON THE BOTTLE: COLOURS AND SHAPES OF WINE LABELS
Wine consumers rely mainly on the label on the bottle to infer the quality of its content. But there is little empirical research on how colours can be interacted with shapes in the design of wine labels. This study draws from an experiment using data from Spain and shows that there are strong preferences for selected colour-shape combinations in label design. Surprisingly, colour alone does not elicit as strong preferences as certain shapes do, at least when they are assessed irrespectively of the shapes featured in the label. Other combinations, on the other hand, are very resilient, especially those that contain colour hues, such as brown, yellow, black and green, in labels with salient rectangular and hexagonal patterns.wine labels, Marketing,
Triple seesaw mechanism
On fitting the type II seesaw mechanism into the type I seesaw mechanism, we
obtain a formula to the neutrino masses which get suppressed by high-scale
in its denominator. As a result, light neutrinos are naturally obtained
with new physics at TeV scale. As interesting consequence, the mechanism may be
directly probed at the LHC by directly producing the TeV states intrinsic of
the mechanism. We show that the 3-3-1 model with right-handed neutrinos
realizes naturally such seesaw mechanism.Comment: About 13 pages, no figure
